What To Expect

Craniosacral Therapy

• We’ll begin with a brief check-in to go over your goals for bodywork, the information you shared on your intake form, and any questions you have.

• You will lie on your back on a cushioned massage table, with blankets, pillows, and bolsters as needed for comfort. You will remain clothed, so please wear comfortable and non-restrictive clothing.

• The work is quiet and still. Each hold may be anywhere from 2-20 minutes in duration. Most sessions include work at the ankles, sacrum/low back, diaphragm, upper back, and head/neck.

• You are welcome to share what you’re experiencing or rest in silence for the entire session. Depending on your communication preferences, I will check in with you throughout the session to see if you need any adjustments, but please let me know at any point if anything feels off, uncomfortable, or uneasy.

• There is a range of experiences in a Craniosacral session. You may fall asleep, drop into a meditative state, or have images or memories surface. All you need to do is relax and be a witness to your experience.

• When the session is complete, we will have a few moments to transition and integrate.

  • All clients should prioritize extra hydration and a good night’s sleep after their session. But, as this work can mobilize stored toxins, some clients will need to support their elimination pathways more strategically to keep any liberated toxins from re-circulating through the bloodstream and causing flu-like detox symptoms.

You may be called to work up a gentle sweat in a warm magnesium/epsom salt bath or sauna, practice gentle movement or breathwork, or schedule a colon hydrotherapy session. See the Post-Session Support page for more info about preventing or addressing detox symptoms.

Lymphatic Drainage

• We’ll begin with a brief check-in to go over your goals for bodywork, the information you shared on your intake form, and any questions you have.

• You will undress and lie on your back on a cushioned massage table, with blankets, pillows, and bolsters as needed for comfort. You will be fully covered throughout the session aside from the part of the body being worked on.

• The treatment is sequential, working methodically to trace the direction of lymphatic flow throughout the body. Areas of focus are: the neck, sternum, armpits, abdomen, hip creases, and face.

• The touch is light, slow, and rhythmic, gently stretching the skin at a superficial level. There is no oil used for the majority of the treatment, aside from the abdominal massage, where the touch is more fluid and slightly deeper.

• Depending on your communication preferences, I will check in with you throughout the session to see if you need any adjustments, but please let me know at any point if anything feels off, uncomfortable, or uneasy.

• When the session is complete, we will have a few moments to transition and integrate.

  • If you can, protect some time after your session for a practice that helps you stay quiet and in your body: walking, time in nature, journaling, art, a bath, meditation, etc. Try to stay present with how you feel in the following hours and days.

For some, grief or fatigue may emerge after a session—if so, be extra gentle with yourself, drink lots of water, practice emotional and physical self-care, and seek out additional support as needed.

Policies

To cancel or reschedule your session: Please do so at least 24 hours in advance of your session time, via the link in your confirmation email or by contacting me. For emergencies or illness, late cancellations will be available on a case by case basis. Otherwise, the full session fee will be charged.

For late arrivals: If you arrive up to 20 minutes late, we will use the remaining session time. After 20 minutes, I will consider it a no-show and the late cancellation policy above will stand.

Payment: A card on file is required upon scheduling. Payment is due at the time of your session—via credit/debit or Venmo.

Fragrance & Chemical Sensitivities

Please refrain from wearing perfume/cologne, as I and many of the clients I work with are sensitive to fragrance.

All linens used in session are natural fibers and washed with non-toxic & fragrance-free detergent. Organic essential oils may be used as indicated and desired.
